Point Five Reader, Film Studies, at Oxford Brookes for half of academic year (Sept to Februrary). Based in London and Barcelona. The other half I am a freelance writer and lecturer on topics including film, translation, gay and lesbian history (De Sodoma a Chueca) and culture, queer theory, Spanish cinema (24 Frames: The Cinema of Spain and Portugal, Historical Dictionary of Spanish Cinema), Spanish gay and lesbian culture (Miradas Insumisas). Work published in English and Spanish. Author of a number of reference books on gay culture and Spanish cinema, as well as academic articles on Almodóvar, Lorca, Zulueta, Cifesa, Spanish decadentism and popular cinema. Also, Spanish translations and editions of Oscar Wilde, Edward Albee and (forthcoming) John Webster. Author of two novels published by Egales: Londres para corazones despistados and Como la tentación, winner of the Terenci Moix award for gay fiction.
