Thesis Title: Top-down modulation of attention in visual search
About
Now a Early Career Fellow at Oxford Brookes University, the world is my research oyster. I will be looking at all aspects of how knowledge and expectations affect how we perceive the visual world, particularly focusing on measuring eye movements during search.
Previously, I was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Birmingham. As well as lecturing undergraduates, my research is investigating response and eye movement behaviour during eye movement and face perception in both adult and younger participants. My thesis investigated the dimension differences between the effects of colour and orientation cueing during an conjunction search, focussing on both response and eye-movement behaviour. I have also extended my research into real-world scenarios, working with Alan Kingstone at the University of British Columbia.
