Research Interests
An important part of children's early cognitive development concerns their awareness of what is real versus what is pretend or fantastical. My research examines young children's understanding of distinctions between realities and non-realities, and in particular aims to develop improved methodologies that can be used to access children's knowledge in these domains. Current projects include looking at applications of this research to the problem of children's night-time fears of imaginary creatures, in collaboration with Dr Luci Wiggs.
