About
Pimpika Thongrom came back to Oxford Brookes University in 2008 after complete MRes (Master of Research Methods in Business)with merit. Her research thesis is entitled. The effect of film interpretation on destination choice: using film semiotic. She is in the first year of her full time MPhil/PhD and submitted her registration paper in May 2009. Her focus of research will be to understand how interpreted signs in films affect the destination image of Thailand and consequently how this affects to destination choice. Her Director of Studies is Dr. David Bowen and her second supervisor is Sally Harridge-March.
Pimpika is working on her literature review and her methodology. She plans to conduct focus groups in the UK in order to develop the interview later on in Thailand. It is hoped that she will complete her PhD by September 2011.
